Bob was born in Montreal, Quebec, on September 21, 1964. He was drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round, 15th overall in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He was then traded to Buffalo for Mike Ramsey on March 22, 1993, and signed as a free agent by San Jose on August 17, 1993. He was then traded to Detroit by San Jose for a fifth-round draft choice on February 27, 1995. Last season Bob was sixth in overall plus minus with plus 30. He was plus or even in 66 of 71 games. In his career, Bob played on two Stanley Cup winners with Pittsburgh in 1991 and '92. He had his career high in goals, assists, and points in 1988-89. Bob is the third cousin of Red Wings Hall of Famer Ted Lindsay.
